D5 Mites Steamroll Middleboro

MIDDLEBORO, MA – In a complete 180-degree turnaround from weeks past, the Silver Bullets D5 Mites played a nearly-flawless game and steamrolled host Middleboro, 22-6, last Saturday afternoon.
Quarterback and defensive tackle Andrew Falacci was a veritable one-man show collecting a two-point PAT run and three consecutive quarterback sacks, while running back Manny Perry ran for 135 yards (200 all-purpose yards) and three touchdowns.
Perry, who ran for a 60-yard touchdown on the first play of the game, also collected a beautiful 65-yard touchdown return run on the opening kick-off of the second half. The D5 offensive line allowed the
Barnstable running game a total of 192 yards rushing on the day.
The true defensive star of the game, though, was linebacker Bryan Hardy who collected seven tackles on the day, including two sacks and one fumble recovery in the fourth quarter. Deep in Middleboro territory, Hardy switched to the noseguard position, charged in and snatched the ball right out of the quarterback’s hands.
Other outstanding defensive efforts were turned in by defensive end Mark Lambert, middle linebacker Matt Lambert, outside linebacker Marcus Cunningham, noseguard Justes Chafee, cornerback Scotty Warren and free safety Robby Stuart. Cornerback Timmy Roderiques, noseguard Taryn Tinti, cornerbacks John Hardy and Darien Kaski, defensive end Conor Walsh and tackles Elijah Daniels and Jack Newton also played well.
The offensive line of Hayden Murphy, Mike Dombrowski, Walsh, Steven Zeglen, Scotty Girvan, Michael Joyce and Scotty Warren played phenomenally well.
Running back Darryl Frye played exceptionally well, gaining 20 yards on five carries. Other backs who handed in solid performances included Kevin Huska, Hardy, Danny Johnson, Eric Rogorzinski, Colby Blaze and Max Lambert. Quarterback Matthew Tracy also stepped his performance up considerably, making numerous, flawless handoffs throughout the game.
The Silver Bullets clinched a playoff berth with the victory and now stand at 2-4 on the season with two games remaining in the regular season.
