Silver
Bullets D5 Mites Fall Hard to Hingham
HYANNIS
– The D5 Mites Silver Bullets fell hard to Hingham
Sunday afternoon, 28-6, in the season's second match-up between
the two squads.
Things went awry for the host Silver Bullets from the get-go, as
Hingham
ran back a deep Andrew Falacci kick-off, 70 yards for a touchdown.
A successful Hingham
two-point PAT made it 8-0.
Things looked rough for the hosts
as the Silver Bullet offense could not get the ball off and running
with continued exchange problems and fumbles. The usually stoic
Barnstable
defense then allowed a second Hingham
score to make it 14-0, but a recharged defense stuffed the two-point
PAT.
Incredibly gutsy and tough performances
were handed in by cornerback Timmy Roderiques, outside linebacker
Marcus Cunningham and defensive end Mark Lambert who collected six
consecutive tackles in the fourth quarter and had two sacks on the
day.
Running back Manny Perry had 85 yards
rushing on the day, including one 70-yard touchdown run for Barnstable
's
lone score of the day.
Other solid defensive efforts were
handed in by defensive tackle Elijah Daniels, noseguards Conor Walsh
and Justes Chafee and middle linebacker Matt Lambert.
